At the heart heart of the East Midlands, our population is around 291,000. We’re one of the youngest cities in the UK, with over 50% of the population under 30. Geographically just 34 miles south of Sheffield and 26 miles north of Leicester, and handy for beautiful Vale of Belvoir. We’re the seventh largest city in the UK and have a robust strategy for future growth and green innovation.
Nottinghamshire is the sports capital of the Midlands with two of the oldest football clubs in the world, Nottingham Forest and Notts County. The Trent Bridge cricket club NCC and test match venue are all within a one mile radius of each other. Our top ice hockey team The Panthers are based at our wonderful The National Ice Stadium. Our Olympic class Water Sports Centre and country park at Holme Pierrepont near the city centre is well worth a visit.
What about our industrial and cultural heritage?
We’re famed for our Lace, Robin Hood, and the Castle. Our city charter was granted in 1897 as part of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. And our future looks good with two world class universities.
Paul Smith the famous designer is from Nottingham, and has a distribution warehouse here, as does Boots.
Nottingham is a diverse city with two shopping centres and a Castle within a mile radius of the centre.
Public transport around the city including trams are very convenient and for those travelling further afield our mainline train station and international airport are easy to access.
