This ad from 1919 is typical of those appearing in motoring magazines for the last century! What is interesting though is timing. Of course it’s all to do with supply and demand. Post WW1 the motor trade was in the doldrums due to the economic slump, the pace at which car manufacturers could recommence commercial car production. Production was low and the demand for affordable second hand cars was relatively high.
