Time for a change
It’s time for a change. My Ford Focus is 15 years old now and does everything a car needs to do, and very well too. Why change?
It’s just one of those thoughts that pops into your head from time to time and becomes a bit of an itch that needs to be scratched. The first pang of excitement gives way to the question of money – what can I afford!
A pal of mine recommended I should go to the Sell My Cars website and get an estimate for my car – better still it’s a local business, so I did just that.
There’s a simple to use online valuation tool – just enter your registration number and answer a couple of simple questions such as mileage, number of owners and service history, press the button and that’s it! – The car might be quite old, but it’s low miles and has a full service history so the estimate was actually about £500 more than I was expecting – but sadly still not enough to pay for a replacement car to match my requirements. Now is definitely the time for a change.
My specification for a replacement.
- Must be affordable
- Must have the performance of a supercar to beat the traffic, but manoeuvrable to park in tight spaces.
- Must have great visibility.
- Must be cheap to run and insure.
- Must look great and impress the neighbours!
My pal also mentioned that Brian at Sell My Cars had just bought something that matched my requirements. He said I would need to be quick as it was attracting attention.
I gave Brian a ring, he confirmed that he still had what I might be looking for so I went off to see him in a shot.
.. and there it was, parked in the sunshine, looking great in shocking blue colour and a brand new MOT – it had everything my specification demanded. A quick test drive was arranged, and after a bit of the usual sales banter the deal was struck. I couldn`t have been happier with my new wheels or the buying experience. He even delivered it to me the same day. Great service.
Here she is…. cheers Brian, and I get to keep my car.
(P.S. Sell My Cars also buys motor cycles)
